Rudolph Kaplan is pleased to announce that Benjamin Altshul has recently joined the firm as an Associate Attorney. Although newly licensed as an attorney, Benjamin has been a law clerk with the firm since 2011. Benjamin has worked closely with both David and Seth on several commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions and advising both condominium associations and unit owners regarding assessment collection and enforcement of covenants in governing documents. Benjamin also has significant experience handling business entity formation, contract negotiation and real estate litigation.
In undergrad, Benjamin majored in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics and received his bachelor of business administration from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2010. Benjamin then attended law school at Chicago – Kent College of Law, making the Dean’s List all six semesters. In 2013, Benjamin graduated magna cum laude and received his juris doctorate with a Certificate in Business Law. At Chicago – Kent, Benjamin was a member of the Real Estate Law Society and received the CALI award for highest grade in his Spring 2013 Real Estate Fundamentals and Syndications class. In October 2013, Benjamin was inducted into the Order of the Coif for his exceptional academic performance while in law school.
In addition to his time at Rudolph Kaplan, Benjamin spent his first summer in law school training and volunteering as a mediator in the small claims division at the Circuit Court of Cook County. In his free time, Benjamin likes to golf, attend sporting events and live concerts, try new restaurants and spend time with his family in Chicago.
