Seth A. Kaplan - Partner
Seth A. Kaplan's practice focuses on Corporate and Real Estate law. Seth has represented clients in the acquisition and disposition of many types of commercial, industrial and real estate, and all other aspects of transactional real estate law, including commercial leasing. Additionally, Seth represents real estate developers and investors in fund formation, equity raising, and joint ventures, as well as clients in the formation of new businesses.
Seth's expertise in the real estate and corporate arenas have led him to develop a practice assisting start-ups in all aspects of developing new businesses, from idea to execution.
Seth values pro-bono work and has argued in front of the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals and represented client seeking asylum in pro bono matters.
An alum of Colgate University, Seth was a four year letter-winner in Varsity Baseball. He then received a M.A. in English literature from DePaul University and followed that with a six-year stint as a college and high school teacher of English and writing and a baseball coach at Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook, IL. Seth graduated from Chicago Kent College of Law in 2006 as a member of the Moot Court Honors Society and the Dean's List. He served as a judicial extern in the Northern District of Illinois for Presiding Magistrate Morton Denlow and Federal District Court Judge Robert Gettleman while in law school.
Seth is married with two children and lives in Evanston, IL. He coaches baseball, writes and enjoys travelling and cooking.
